You are to develop a short animated scene (LO1) that captures the following action:

“A Person/Character catches something in their hand (Which we cannot identify at first) that falls through the airs.

We then see the character peer at their hands  and slowly open their fingers and peer into their palm.”

You must attempt to convey both subtlety of movement and capture the emotion of the scene.

You must also consider Symbolism, Composition, Style, Colour and other Aesthetic Conventions and how these may add meaning or Audience understanding of this simple scene (LO2). Is there anyway you could up turn conventions in your scene, defy expectation in your audience…… How might you avoid Stereotypes? (LO3) Though this can be discussed in your reflection if not fully implemented into your animation.

You can use any media or materials you wish, but remember, finish is less important here than conveying Emotion and “Acting” through your character.

You should consider Photographic and Video reference as an aid to capturing natural and exaggerated movement. And Comment on the work of others as well as your own outcomes.

This Animation may be based on a character on a character or scene you have already began to develop.
